At Casana, we believe the most sustainable furniture is the kind that does not need replacing every few years. Our design process focuses on refined, stylish furniture with structural integrity at its core, with materials, construction and finishes selected to support long-term, everyday use. 

We are in the early stages of formalising our ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) approach, and this page outlines the principles guiding our decisions today and the areas we are continuing to develop.

Responsible sourcing

We are continuing to strengthen our approach to responsible sourcing.Our current focus includes improving transparency around material origin and production methods, and working with partners who comply with relevant labour, safety and environmental standards in their region.

We are gradually expanding product information so customers can make more informed choices. As our sourcing framework develops, we will publish clearer criteria and measurable objectives.

Product care, repair and replenishment

Extending the life of each piece is a key part of our sustainability approach. We provide product care guidance to support proper maintenance and extend product life. Where possible, replacement components such as legs, feet or fixings can be supplied instead of replacing an entire item.

We also offer a replenishment service that supports scheme continuity, reducing the need for full furniture set replacement where only selected items require updating.

Packaging and delivery

Furniture requires robust protection in transit. Our aim is to balance that with responsible material use. We work with suppliers and delivery partners to reduce unnecessary packaging while maintaining appropriate protection. Where our installation services are used, we remove all packaging and separate for recycling where possible.

We continue to review packaging specifications and explore improvements that do not compromise product safety.

Social responsibility

As a growing business, we are developing our social responsibility framework in a measured way. Our focus includes maintaining fair and safe working conditions within our own operations, working responsibly with suppliers, and ensuring clear standards across quality and compliance.

We are committed to continued team training and operational accountability as the business develops.

Governance and compliance

Sound governance underpins our approach and we follow applicable UK regulations relating to consumer rights, data protection and e-privacy. Key policies, including our Warranty, Returns and Privacy policies, are reviewed periodically to ensure clarity and compliance.

Looking ahead

Sustainability is an ongoing process and over time, we intend to set clearer objectives around sourcing, packaging and product development, provide more detailed material information for key ranges, and explore partnerships or certifications where they offer genuine value.
